| Do you want to learn a new skill that we don't yet offer a class in? We have knitting instructors that will work with you on a one-on-one basis. Call the store to arrange a private class with one of our fabulous instructors! General Knitting Classes $60 These classes are for all levels and meet for six weeks. Sunday 5:30- 7:30 with Hannah Session 1- January 23, 30, February 6, 13, 20 & March 6 Session 2- March 20, 27 , April 3, 10, 17, & May 1 Tuesday 7- 9 with Mary Session 1- January 11, 18, 25, February 1, 8 & 15 Session 2- March 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 & April 5 Session 3- April 19, 26, May 3, 10, 17 & 24 Learn to Knit $20 If you have never knit before this is the class for you! This one session class goes over the basics of knitting. Monday 7-9pm January 24 February 21 March 21 April 18 Learn to Crochet $25 Learn the fundamentals of crochet. You will learn how to make a beginning chain, single crochet and learn all about the basic materials. These techniques will be put to use in making the essential scarf. No previous experience necessary. Monday 7-9pm February 7 Finishing Help and Techniques $25 Bring in your projects for this one session class and get help putting those finishing touches on them. Or come just to learn some new techniques for the future! Thursday 9-11am February 10 Tuesday 9-11am March 22 Toe-up Socks On one circular needle $50 Learn all of the tricks to make custom fit socks from the toe up with no seam! Socks are a great small project to carry with you on all of your travels. Class meets for four sessions . All you need is one of our great sock yarns and one 24 inch circular needles in the size recommended by the yarn you choose. (Knit your gauge swatches before first class. Not too loose- you want a tighter fabric for a longer wearing sock.) Prerequisites: You must know how to cast on, knit, purl, recognize knit and purl stitches and bind off. With Hannah Sunday 3:30-5pm January 23, 30, February 6 & 13 March 6, 13, 20 & 27 Fingerless Mitts $40 This two session class is perfect to keep your hands warm and stylish this winter! Less complicated than mittens, cuter than gloves, this project makes the perfect gift for that special someone (or yourself). Does not include supplies. Prerequisites: You must be able to cast on, knit and purl. Monday 5:30-7pm February 7 & 14 March 7 & 14 Adorable Baby Hat $40 This two session class is all you need to make the perfect baby hat for a special little one. Pattern included. Monday 5:30- 7pm February 21 & 28 March 21 & 28 Knitting 201- Beyond the Basics $25 One time 2 hour class. Supplies not included. Are you ready to add to your skills after taking Beginning Knitting, to remind yourself of certain techniques, or just add new skills to your repertoire? Pattern reading and how to read a yarn ball band will be covered. Increasing and decreasing will be covered if time allows. Bring your questions! Prerequisites: cast on, knit and purl. Monday 7-9pm January 31 February 28 Simple Hat $40 Ready to expand your knitting skills? This wonderful two session class will help! Prerequisites: You must know how to cast on, knit, purl, recognize knit and purl stitches and bind off. Thursday 7- 8:30 February 10 & 17 March 3 & 10 Knitter's Night! Come in to the shop to hang out and knit after hours. You will enjoy lots of laughter, clicking needles, inspiring projects and good stories. All that for free! The Third Thursday of every month 6:30 - 9:00pm January 20 February 17 March 17 April 21 May 19 June 16 Learn to Spin on the Spinning Wheel Beginning spinning - Getting comfortable on the spinning wheel. Wednesday 6 - 7:30 January 19 & 26 February 9 & 16 Cost $50 Create a Fantasy Creature- Felting with Wendy Feldman An exquisite needle-felting class! Wednesday 6 - 7:30pm Cost $70 Spinner's Night! Come be a part of our local spinning community, share ideas, get inspired and have fun! The First Wednesday of every month 6:00 - 8:00pm Keep Checking in for More new Classes! Adult Classic Cap $35 This fold-over hem hat is a cold weather must have! Classic styling allows for endless color combinations. Two session class. Pattern included. Sunday 3-4pm November 7 & 14 Workshops Introducing workshops! A one time class that will introduce you to different knitting techniques. We are not doing any particular pattern in these workshops – just giving tips and tricks to help you advance your knitting. Fancy Stitches Workshop- 2 hrs $25 per person This workshop will go over some great fancier options to enhance your knitting. Growing tired of plain Garter and Stockinette? Jazz it up a bit and learn the possibilities! Wednesday 10- noon October 27 Thursday 7-9pm November 11 Continental Knitting Workshop- 1.5 hrs $20 per person If you are an English knitter or a ‘thrower’ you hold the working yarn in your Right hand to knit. This class will go over how to knit continentally, that is holding the yarn in your left hand. This technique can be faster for some people. Also if you know how to knit continental stranded colorwork is a breeze. Must be able to comfortably Knit, Purl, and Cast on. Thursday 6-7:30 September 23 Knit Refresher $35 Has it been a while since you picked your knitting up? This two-time class is open for questions and confidence building techniques! Baby Bear $55 plus materials Learn how to make a cute baby bear as a baby gift or just for a special someone. There is a sample in the store so you can see this adorable project. Prerequisites: Must know how to knit, purl, cast on and off. Cabling Workshop- 2 hrs $20 per person Ever wanted to learn cabling? This workshop will go over basic cables and pattern/chart reading. We will also go over how adding a cabling will effect or enhance your finished object. Must be able to Knit, Purl, Cast on and Cast off. Stranded Colorwork Workshop- 2 hrs $20 per person Are you ready to take the next step– and knit with two colors at the same time? Have a Fair Isle pattern that you are dying to try? This workshop will go over two handed colorwork knitting, reading colorwork charts, and how to avoid puckering in your finished object. This class will also go over terminology and how tips and tricks on how to avoid long ‘floats’. Must be able to comfortably Knit, Purl, Cast on and Cast off. Chart Reading Workshop- 2 hrs $20 per person This workshop will go over how to read a chart, work from a chart, and some tips to help you knit successfully from a cable, lace, or colorwork chart. Knit your first Sweater $60 With Deborah Knit this classic and flattering pullover from the top-down, in the round (no seams to sew). Learn how to shape, pick up stitches and correct errors. Prerequisites: You must be able to cast on, knit, purl, bind off and recognize knit and purl stitches. Monday 7-9 pm Learn to Crochet $20 Learn the fundamentals of crochet. Thursday 7-9 pm $20 Nov 5 Holiday Ornaments $25 Use the skills from this one time class to make cute holiday ornaments to decorate your tree or for great holiday gifts. Come see the samples in the store for ideas of what you can make. Prerequisites: know how to knit, purl, cast on and off. Bring scraps of yarn and an assortment of DPN's or 1 long circular needle. Finishing Class Need to sew your sweater together, pick up some stitches or weave in ends? This is the 2 hour session for you! This is also an appropriate class if you need some other help on your project. Cost $20 Swirl Scarf Come by and check out our store sample and sign up for this class to learn the magic behind this stunning scarf! (Includes yarn and pattern.) Cost $40 Modular Scarf This scarf is created from a perfect blend of small and large blocks, what a great way to accentuate any of the beautiful hand-painted yarn that we have at the shop! Cost $20 Basic Socks With Kate Explore the wonderful world of sock knitting! In this class you will learn all of the necessary skills for making your own hand-knit socks! Class meets for three sessions so you will have plenty of time to get your homework done. Prerequisites: You must know how to cast on, knit, purl, recognize knit and purl stitches and bind off. Cost $40 Basics of Crochet Learn and expand on the basic techniques of crochet (making a chain, learning single and double crochet). This three session class will help you to gain confidence with your crochet! Cost $45 Top Down Baby Sweater With Kate Knit this adorable baby sweater on circular needles in one piece. Stop by and check out our sample in the shop! Prerequisites: You must be able to cast on, knit, purl, bind off and recognize knit and purl stitches. Cost $50 Monday 10 am- 12 noon October 13, 20 & 27 Getting Back to Knitting Haven't knit for a while? Get started back with a little professional help! Cost $20 Increase it! Decrease it! Shape it! So you've learned to knit and have made your share of scarves? Want to knit something other than a square or rectangle? Then this class is for you! You will learn how to increase and decrease including but not limited to : k2tog, ssk, m1, yo and kf&b. You will also learn alternative methods of casting on. You must know how to cast on, knit, purl and recognize knit and purl stitches. Cost $20 Learn to Knit Cables Expand your pattern skills by creating beautiful cables for your scarves, sweaters, afghans and bags! You will learn how to knit basic Left Cross and Right Cross cables using charted as well as written instructions. You must know how to cast on, knit, purl and recognize knit and purl stitches. Cost $20 Learn to Crochet $20 Learn the fundamentals of crochet. You will learn how to make a beginning chain, single crochet and learn all about the basic materials. Crochet- Edgings and Borders $20 Now that you know a little bit about crochet, it's time to expand your knowledge and explore new possibilities! Dress up your projects with beautiful finishing touches. Crochet Spring Scarf $20 Take advantage of this great class and make great spring scarves to accessorize any outfit. Magic Loop Socks $50 Socks are a great small project to carry with you on all of your travels. Class meets for three sessions. All you need is one of our great sock yarns and a circular needle in the size recommended by the yarn you choose. Knit your gauge swatches! Prerequisites: You must know how to cast on, knit, purl, recognize knit and purl stitches and bind off. Knitting Terminology $20 This one time class will give you the confidence to take on that next great project. Learn how to read patterns and abbreviations, use special techniques and learn to knit and measure a gauge swatch properly. Fingerless Mitts $40 These versatile hand warmers are a great knit for gifts and perfect to gift yourself! Class meets for two sessions. Prerequisites: You must know how to cast on, knit, purl, recognize knit and purl stitches and bind off. |

Registration Policies 1) Class size is determined by teacher. 2) Classes fill quickly. Please sign up and pay in advance to ensure your enrollment. 3) Payment is due upon registration and is required to hold your place. 4) There will be no refunds given for missed classes. 5) If a class needs to be rescheduled due to weather or instructor’s illness every effort will be made include everyone in the make-up class. 6) If you must cancel your registration no refund will be given unless there is someone to take your place. 7) No refunds after a class starts. We may have to reschedule a class due to inclement weather or because of instructor illness. The instructor will make every attempt to reschedule for a time that is convenient for everyone. Enrollment takes place with the full payment of the class fee. We cannot hold spaces without payment. You may pay by credit card over the phone. Please know that even though there may be space in a class at one moment, and hour later it may fill. CHECK YOUR CALENDERS!! Refunds will not be given within two weeks of the beginning of class. Should a student be unable to attend a class, and notifies us less than two weeks before the class begins, a refund will be given only if the class is full AND their space in the class can be filled by a new student. (The more notice you give about cancelling, the better we may be able to sell the space. Calling the day of the class does not work.) Refunds will be given should a class cancel due to lack of enrollment. YARN for classes MUST be purchased from yarns etc... or Great Yarns. THERE ARE NOT ANY MAKEUP CLASSES. Teachers are paid with tuition monies whether or not students attend a class. |
