Great Yarns Classes in Raleigh

CLASS POLICIES for GREAT YARNS and YARN’S ETC…

Yarns used for classes at Great Yarns/Yarns Etc… must be purchased from our shops.

Payment for class is due at the time of registration and is not refundable within three (3) days of the class start time.

All purchases of class supplies (excluding the class registration fee) can be applied toward your shop’s discount card.

Private Lessons available upon request

Call either store to schedule a private lesson if you don’t see a class that works for you.

Looking for an interesting project and good company to help you get through the dreary winter months?  Come join our Knit-a-long!  We’ll be making Elizabeth Smith’s “Anora,” a trendy, but classically flattering sweater that can be personalized to suit your taste.  Pam is knitting hers in tonal neutrals (like the pattern sample on Ravelry) for her 20-something daughter, but you might want to make yours in jewel tones or brights….  Share ideas, compare notes, and make a friend or two while you stitch your own style!

An interesting pattern knit in a colorful worsted weight yarn makes this an inspiring project that will keep your head both stylish and cozy during what’s left of our Winter months!  Martha will teach you to read a chart and give you tips for a hat that really fits…..especially since the pattern comes in several sizes!

Want to try top-down knitting? Have a cute little one in your life?  This class is for you!  Rosemary will teach you the ins and outs of this construction technique, as you create a darling design in either stripes or a solid/variegated.  Advanced beginners who can knit, purl, and know a bit about increasing will improve their skills and learn how to pick up stitches, too.

This asymmetrical shawl is fun to knit and adds feminine polish to your wardrobe. Lace instructions are both written and charted, so this is a good project for those wanting to make the transition.  The garter stitch border features short rows, but you don’t have to knit in the wraps!  A DK weight gauge keeps you warm on those cold February days….

African Flower Heart Pillow

If you’d admired the African Flower motif projects you see on Ravelry, but are a bit intimidated by all of those pieces, then this is a good project to learn the technique, experiment with color, and finish up quickly.  Crocheted in traditional red and pink…to match your decor…or even honor your favorite team (like our sample!)….you can make one for each of your favorite Valentines!
